Caroline and Melissa's Intimate AVAM Wedding

This beautiful intimate AVAM wedding for Caroline and Melissa was such an honor to be a part of and document! They are such a sweet couple that you can’t help but feel comfortable and welcomed by, and they have surrounded themselves with friends and family who make you feel the same! Which is a great opportunity for me to mention how I’m so grateful for the connection to Caroline and Melissa through Caroline’s extended fam and especially cousin Emma, who happens to be one of my close friends and my college roomie!! I’m so glad to have had the chance to celebrate with this phenomenal fam, and to have the chance to get to know Caroline and Melissa through their wedding celebration!

The spring day may have brought us some rain showers but that could not have put a damper on any part of this day! We were able to pivot and do their first look inside the museum. We found a little cozy corner that was the perfect spot for Caroline and Melissa to see each other in their wedding attire for the first time, and their reactions were so perfect and genuinely joyful! And I mean, how absolutely awesome are their looks too? Love all the details from their attire to their reception space! The American Visionary Art Museum (or AVAM) is a great space for events and celebrations, with so many art filled and artsy spaces. And thankfully, we got lucky with a break in the rain later in the evening which meant even more photos outside around the iconic mosaic walls, and a little golden hour sunset too!

Their day was filled with so many thoughtful and personal touches – including a reading from the book “Frog and Toad are Friends,” getting to design their own floral arrangements with flowers from The Fertile Burb, and a crowd-pleasing playlist of family favorites during the reception. This day was, and the two of you are, seriously such a treat! Congratulations again Caroline & Melissa!!
