Booking a session for your family, your anniversary, or just because? We’ll work together to document the occasion and this time in your life!

My motto for family sessions, especially with kids, is to “embrace the chaos!” meaning we get lots of candids as well as posed shots! I also encourage adapting to how kids are feeling. We can let them (and even the adults!) take little breaks from looking at the camera to be able to simply run around and play! – helping to take the pressure off, and getting you so many sweet genuine moments! Toys and pets are always welcome too!

Your session includes:

~30-45 minute session, up to 6 people
Your choice of location (with suggestions available)
Edited images delivered via downloadable gallery
Looking to include a larger group? Just add $25/person beyond your first 6 family members!

Mini Sessions

Minis START AT $275

Looking to book a shorter, seasonal family session? Several times throughout the year, especially in the fall, I host mini session dates. These typically start at $275 and include a 15-minute time slot at a pre-arranged location. Afterwards, you’ll receive a downloadable gallery of your edited images!

For most of the year, about 2-3 months is a good lead time for booking a session, especially if you have a specific date or occasion in mind. During the busy seasons, especially fall, I can usually only accept mini sessions to best accommodate everyone, so make sure to sign up for the mini session email list so you’re in the know when those are available!

YES! Always. In fact, please do (and I do have personal motivations here because I want to meet and pet them!) Pets are always welcome – just keep in mind a good option for leashing (or bringing someone else to help hold pets) in case you’d like some of your photos of just the people too.

Absolutely! I have a long list of favorite locations all over Maryland. Locations span a variety of parks and city neighborhoods depending on the style you’re looking for. And I can also help you through any permit processes (many parks and private businesses will require these).

I typically suggest thinking of attire options based on both color palette and comfort. You will always feel and look your best when you’re wearing something that you already love and feel confident in!

If you’ll be photographed in a group, I usually suggest picking an overall color scheme (matching isn’t required!) – you can look at a pattern in one person’s outfit and pull other colors from that. For family sessions, I also have some favorite looks and color palettes in a pinterest board you can check out here!

When we’re photographing, I try to think about directing you more through actions and movement than specific poses (of course I also am always keeping an eye on hair, jewelry, clothing and what’s happening behind you though!)

My hope in focusing on actions is that it gives you a more relaxed experience, and natural looking photos! We’ve all been there: standing for a long time smiling at a camera waiting.. so I will often suggest walking, moving, or little breaks between shots to avoid any feelings of stiffness or discomfort. Sometimes prompts may be a little silly to help you or others in your group laugh! My main goal is to always make sure that you look your best, and also feel like the experience was comfortable and fun too!

Generally within 2-3 days after your session, I’ll have a batch of “sneak peek” or preview images available. I love to share these on social media but if you have privacy concerns, I can also send these directly to your email first! For most sessions, the turn around time for full edited galleries is about 2 weeks. Your photos will be downloadable, easy to share and save!
