Filbert Street Garden | UWCM Volunteering Event
Time to take a virtual visit to Filbert Street Garden in Baltimore!! & Y’all are in for a wholesome and adorable animal-filled blog post!
This spring, I spent a morning with United Way of Central Maryland members and volunteers as they helped maintain garden growth, clean around the goat pens, and touch up with some painting projects around Filbert. This was the second year I was able to capture this fun volunteering event and I really love this one. It’s such a feel-good day at a place that is doing so much for Baltimore.
UWCM (United Way of Central Maryland) is a non-profit that focuses on promoting equity and creating opportunities for local neighbors in the community. UWCM’s programming page shares how they aim to increase access to basic needs like housing, health, economic advancement, and education. They do this in so many ways and through lots of initiatives, so definitely be sure to check out more from United Way and see how you can get involved!
For this event, UWCM donors and volunteers met at Filbert Street Garden, one of their partners in their Brooklyn Neighborhood zone. Filbert Street Garden is a non-profit organization that provides green space for recreation, gardening plots, seasonal events, plus free produce and eggs to South Baltimore residents. There’s so much to do and learn about here, so definitely visit the Filbert Street Garden website to find out more!
Personally, I just love an event like this that combines giving back and SO many cute farm animals to oversee the work. These are two fantastic orgs and I’m so thrilled to have been a part of this event!
Alright, get ready so much animal cuteness and wholesome gardening help!! Hope to visit this great space at Filbert Street Garden with UWCM again soon!
Such a fun event! Thanks again UWCM for having me there to document the day!
