ReFED Food Waste Solutions Summit in Baltimore

In 2024, the nonprofit ReFED came to the Baltimore convention center to host their annual Food Waste Solutions summit. This organization and this conference brings together folks from researchers to the policymakers, with the mission to strive for a better future where the problems that stem from food waste are solved. I was thrilled to provide conference photography for their summit a couple years ago!

I often say that one of my favorite things about my role as a photographer is getting access to interesting events and stories through this job. Getting to listen in to so many amazing speakers, and hear more about the hard work these teams are doing to tackle food waste issues was inspiring. I’m so grateful to have been able to photograph the three days of the 2024 ReFED Food Waste Solutions Summit, and finally getting some favorites on the blog at long last!

They kicked off the conference for guests with tours to their choice of nearby organizations and off-site locations including Maryland Food Bank and Plantation Park Heights Urban Farm. They also made sure to include so many local Baltimore voices and initiatives throughout the conference programming, which was so inspiring. It was a jam packed few days filled with folks thrilled to reunite, invigorating talks and team building, and of course delicious (and effectively composited) food!
