Adam, James Class of 2012 {High School Senior Photography}

Towards the end of October, I had the pleasure of photographing not just one, but two Century High School Seniors! I first booked with Adam and his mom, who happens to also be the brother and mom of my good friend and Ultimate frisbee teammate, Kei (ooh yeah.. I played some Ultimate at College :P). Remember my post about my referral reward program? Well that was actually inspired by these sessions, because I also got to meet James and his mom, friends of Adam and their family. Both the guys and the families were so great, and they were interested in doing a dual session together, which meant we even got to take some photos of them together (they’ve been friends since they were little kids!) And they’ve also both been involved in organizations such as Scouts, German Honors Society & Drama Club as techies. Adam also has an artistic interest, and participates in the National Art Honors Society too! In fact he’s looking into UMBC for Graphic Design hopefully! James’ interests are more science-based – he’s looking into Frostburg for Biology or Wildlife Management. How awesome is that?? Both the guys were very nice & put up with running around to all the amazing nooks and crannies of Sykesville’s Main Street, especially since they had homecoming that night! (I kept telling them that all these photos were just the warm-up for the inevitable Homecoming photos to come haha). Seriously though, the locations the moms helped pick out were perfect and I’d love to do more sessions here!

Meet Adam!

& Here’s one of James’ formal shots. Oh and I noticed that a couple of the shots of James had little arrows in them. I don’t know what but I just think they’re kinda neat. Kinda like, “hey! look over here! this guy’s a senior!!” :P

Sometimes guys can take some work getting comfortable in front of the camera – but it didn’t take too long before these two were strikin’ some pretty spot-on poses! Seriously, you guys did a great job workin’ it!

As we were standing by the tracks, a train went by… with a quick approval from the parents – I got some of these shots of the guys in front of the train :)

Just another example of how many amazing little spots and textures there are in Sykesville! Love this stone!

So finally, the last location we went to was Piney Run Park. The light was fading but you could tell this place would have tons of potential spots.

So funny how James wasn’t sure if he was feeling some photos in his jacket, but I am SO glad we did! I love the black jacket with the pop of green with this amazing light! Thanks for putting up with me James! :) Hope you’ll agree it was worth it!

Finished up Adam’s Session with a couple shots in his scouts uniform (he’s working to become an Eagle Scout!)

& Then.. with his other interested – the Ukulele! This part of the session was awesome because he actually played a some for us. Made me wish I could have someone walking around following all my sessions with some tunes :P So relaxing.

So happy with how this one turned out! I’m sure that sometimes my suggestions for where to sit or pose can seem a little bizarre (okay can you go ahead and sit in this grassy field??!) haha but I appreciate the trust because sometimes it really works, and I love when it does!!

& Then a few of Adam working in his sketchbook. He’s hoping to apply for the Linehan Scholarship at UMBC! I was really excited to hear this – I was a part of this program at UMBC while I was there and they really do so many amazing things for the students. Good luck & I hope you’re accepted Adam!

Great sessions guys! & It was wonderful meeting everyone :) Good luck with all your future endeavors!
