ICELAND | Summer Family Adventures in Iceland
Over the summer, my parents graciously decided that to celebrate all sorts of great milestones this year (including Adam and I each turning 30, whoa!!) we would take a family vacation! We set out to planning, landed on heading to Iceland, and got to experience one of the most photogenic and inspiring places I’ve been able to visit. This place is so unique, and in so many ways, seems like a place that shouldn’t have allowed for life to thrive. It gave me a mixture of hope that the planet will find ways to adapt over time, and also even more determination to slow our own human impact on those changes. The landscapes were beautiful, the company was amazing, and I’m so grateful we could do this (thank you Mom and Dad!!!) We saw tons of waterfalls, swam in heated lagoons, Adam and I even snorkeled between the tectonic plates, visited (and drank Icelandic beer!) in Reykjavik, took a ferry to an even smaller island (Vestmannaeyjar!), and saw glaciers melting into the sea! Such a fantastic experience.. I have no idea how I narrowed down to just this batch of photos – there are literally hundreds more!! :) If you’re thinking of visiting Iceland, definitely do!!
The windiest peak on the island/maybe in Europe??
